Company rebranding featured at the Poverty Bay Show:
Having received considerable acclaim for the Ovation brand since it was first launched at the Poverty Bay A&P show last year the same occasion was used to formally rebrand the business to Ovation New Zealand Limited.
With over 300mls of rain falling over the Gisborne District just prior to the show, the grounds were awash with mud and water but the show went on.
The show was significantly important for OVATION, with the final rollout of the new OVATION branding and the Poverty Bay community were invited to be part of it... at the OVATION tent.
International and local support for the new branding was extremely positive and there was a strong turnout from the wider agricultural community. 108 lambs were entered in the OVATION Lamb competition and congratulations to the Briant Family who took the spoils in both the 'On' and 'Off' Hook categories and also claimed the overall Ovation Lamb Competition winners title.
A source of great humour on the Friday afternoon was the 'Celebrity Farmer Boning Competition'. Local farmer Craig Brownlie went toe to toe with Gisborne PGG Wrightson Agent Craig Morgan. Their task was to remove the aitch bone from two hind leg sets, both time and yield was judged by OVATION Gisborne's Plant Manager Kevin Morrell.
Local farmer and part time comedian Graham Williams provided superb commentary throughout the competition. The consensus was that both men stick to their day jobs.
